Major Restoration (Level Three)

The photograph is in poor to bad condition with significant damage or deterioration to important detail areas. This service is generally for seriously damaged or deteriorated photographs but also covers those that require artistic reconstruction of any type. This includes photographs with damage to a subject’s face, body, or other areas that contain important details. In extreme cases it may also be necessary to provide an additional photograph containing the subject or detail area to assist in reconstruction.

Repair major cracks and scratches, reconstruct facial area from reference photo, reveal hidden detail, repair background, and adjust for overall discolouration.

Level three includes level one and two services plus

• Major scratches and/or cracking
• Serious discolouration or fading
• Serious stains
• Major damage including essential areas of the photograph
• Mould or water damage
• Torn pieces (essential areas missing)
